Mold Growth After Roof Leak
Mold spread quickly through this home after rain leaked through a hole in the roof over several days. It was September and the weather was hot and humid. The home was unoccupied and the HVAC unit was not turned on. The humidity levels in the home were very high. Once the mold started, it spread quickly through several rooms in the home.
It had been 10 days since the damage was discovered when SERVPRO was called out to inspect the damage. The first action was to get the roof tarped to prevent future rain leaks. The mold had grown between both levels of the home.
Pictured is the kitchen. Our crews removed the wood paneling and insulation. The area was treated with an antimicrobial. Dehumidifiers were placed to get the humidity levels in the home back to a normal range.
