Mold After Roof Leak
Hail during a spring thunderstorm caused some minor damage to the roof of this home. A small hole in the roof then caused a small roof leak. The leak was located directly over a wall in the living room and wasn't noticed until a few months later when mold became visible on the wall.
The homeowner called SERVPRO as soon as the mold was discovered. During our inspection, we found wet insulation in the attic. After discussing the damage with the homeowner, our crews removed the wet insulation and the mold infested drywall on the ceiling and the wall around the fireplace. The exposed wood framing was treated with an antimicrobial agent. All debris was removed from the job site and plastic containment was set up to keep out drafts and moisture before construction services to replace the removed materials.
